How Can I Clean My Carpet to Get Rid of Head Lice?
After a successful head lice treatment, you have to clean or wash several things to prevent re-infestation. Some of the things are:
- Recently wore clothing
- Brushes are combs
- Pillow covers and bed sheets
- Car seats and of course
There is no need to remove and wash the entire carpet. Just like car seats, you have to vacuum your carpet to kill any head lice that may be there.
Remember, head lice will die if they don’t get their favorite food, i.e. your blood. So, they should be dead within a couple of days.
However, if you think you or someone in your family will sit on the carpet, then it’s best to vacuum it first to kill any live lice, because if you don’t, they will crawl to you and then move up to your hair… and re-infestation will begin.
So, be careful and clean your carpet to get rid of head lice.
